Condenast Traveller – “In it’s Rhodopian Mountain setting on the Bulgarian border of Greece Meadows In The Mountains is full of sublime vistas and a vibe that’s ‘wild and romantic’”

Meadows In The Mountains Festival returns for it’s third chapter this June. Back bigger, better with a wider spectrum of music and an array of creative art inventions. Completely unlike any festival in the world, Meadows is nestled high up in the stunning Rhodope Mountains, very proud of its quirky and different attitude that doesn’t follow trends and other festival’s concepts
.
The beautiful landscapes of Bulgaria beckon once again to recreate the magical mystery and true sense of community that Meadows In The Mountains represents. A world away from other soul less festivals Meadows is a festival who’s uniquely intimate ethos is prodominently made by it’s stunning setting and  friendly people that attend not just the exquisite line up it presents.
Meadow’s welcomes all types of worldwide festivalgoers, explorers, adventure seekers, sun and fun loving hedonists and those born with a penchant for unique immersive experience. Extending a hand to embrace the energy & ethos of community.
Inspired by Bulgarian revolutionaries Vasil Levski and Hristo Botev. Meadows invites it’s participants to embark upon a voyage across the seven seas to the very heart of the Rhodopian Mountains nestled in the beautiful Bulgarian countryside; an untouched and un ravished bastion of nature in this harsh world of urban sprawl and concrete jungles.
Once home to prehistoric man these ancient forests have born witness to the fire of creativity and the explosion of the conscious magical mind. It has been recorded that the ancient Thracian explorers, upon bearing witness to the majesty of the meadows, immediately called for their harps and flutes to be bought forth and a new form of musical ceremony was created. The Byzantines themselves reveled in the power that saturates the land, dancing naked by the moonlight in praise to the Gods of celebration and song.
And it is through this very tradition that curator brothers, Benjamin and Damain Sasse have the most great and humble pleasure in inviting festival goers to cast aside their daily woes, shrug off the binding chains of the 9-5 and indulge in a debauched weekend of mind-expanding experience, community and free spirit to skip through the fields and forests with untamed abandon and to lay with the fireflies and nighttime skies in the long grass of the Meadows in the Mountains Festival!

Meadows In The Mountains artists announced so far:

Baby Prince – one half of Wolf + Lamb given his penchant to mix stiff drinks with sequined headbands and 100 bpm sex jam anthems, you may find that despite his own best efforts, the party seethes through his soul, lying dormant like an itch he can’t scratch until the release of the first record he drops.

Mt Wolf new British dream folk four-piece have had bloggers in a frenzy over the past year with the release of their debut EP, Life Size Ghosts. Vocalist Kate Sproule’s ethereal tones and the band’s dreamy electronic-folk sound is surely destined for great things

Nick Monaco – ever since Soul Clap received Nick’s first demo they have been blown away by his quirkiness and originality. Now a fully-fledged member of the Soul Clap family, Nick is currently making his transition from big bass to deeper, emotional, and more musical explorations, a sign of maturity and growth, the fruit of which we will taste at Meadows.

San Proper – has frequented Amsterdam’s nightlife over the last decade has likely stumbled upon San Proper at some point. And anyone who has met this colorful character agrees: San is driven by a fiery passion for music and an innate predisposition for eccentricity.

Moomin In his own words he is simply a music-lover. In the wake of his breakout debut album, The Story About You, and in the words of others, Moomin is unique for his “resplendent naturalism” and his “beautiful, introspective take on house music”; he has cast “modern house music magic”, been raised to the ranks of “house music’s finest new artists,” and become an artist that “you can listen to anytime, anywhere.

Just Jack – Winners of DJ Magazines ‘Best Club Night’ 2013 for their ever popular Bristol clubnight that focuses on quality music and a laid-back attitude, the boys throw carnival-style events that are designed to eat heads

Jane Fitz – DJ, promoter and music journalist from east London, friend of Meadows and head honcho of hotly tipped London club night – Night Moves, a democratic night, unique in that it has no guestlist, no music policy, two resident DJ’s and a guest who has never played in London before, which makes quite a recipe for one amazing night. Jane’s mixes and podcasts are in constant demand – recent adventures include exclusive mixes for Fabric’s blog, Deep Explorer, Bohemian Grove, Patrice Scott’s radio show and the respected Louche, Northern Purpose and Underlying Form podcasts.

Sebastian Voigt – is probably best known for being one of the founders and driving forces behind the infamous lo*kee parties in London. Many years as a record collector combined with his love for a hedonistic rave have shaped his warm and playful sound, drawing elements from House, Techno, Disco and Acid. His versatility and fine-tuned sense of moods have gained him quite the following in the UK, back in Germany and beyond.

The Common Tongues – are a Brighton based 5 piece that combine the belly fruit of Bob Dylan and The Beach Boys to tell compelling stories of their lives and loves. The band bring real gravitas to the folk scene with expansive instrumentation, cinematic arrangement and luscious 5-part harmony. The  band have found themselves on the bills for The Great Escape, Secret Garden Party and Playgroup Festival and this is their second year at Meadows.

Also announced today: Northern Purpose, Mirko Hector, The Colour Movement, The Priory, Bruno Schimdt, Dead Echo, QVC, Carlos Valdes and many more to announced shortly
