Beardyman unveils the BEARDYTRON_BETA _TOUR

THE BEARDYTRON_BETA_TOUR

NEW DATES ANNOUNCED, TAMPAX-SAVILLE-ELTON and the BBC WELCOMES THE BEARDYTRON

NEW UK DATES

June – Arches, Glasgow
June – Leadmill, Sheffield
June – Waterfront, Norwich
June – Koko, London

Beardyman recentlyBeardyman unveiled at TED in LA his own custom build performance technology called BEARDYTRON_5000mkll which will be showcased in the UK for the first time throughout the June tour which features dates in London, Glasgow, Sheffield & Norwich.

Conceived with some of the best minds in the world of music technology on one of the most ambitious and technically demanding projects ever undertaken by a performing artist.

The culmination of years of research, design and development, the Beardytron5000mkII has been a closely guarded secret until now, and with good reason. It is insane. It can do things literally nothing else can, and with this new system, Beardyman is finally free from the trappings of other peoples technology. To hear what he can do now has to be experienced to be believed.

Due to an unforeseen technical issue the UK Beardytron_Beta_Tour has had to be postponed to the earliest dates available at the above venues. This production issue does not affect the One Album Per Hour musical comedy show at Brighton Festival due to a different technical set up. This will still take place on Saturday 4th May where the Beardytron and its master will be in full effect.

“I’m so sorry for any inconvenience this may cause, but it’s completely out of my control. I understand this will be a massive ball ache to many of you and I really hope you can make the new dates and to see you there.”

As a taster of what’s to come at One Album Per Hour (where the audience give Beardyman the song titles and he has to create the songs live) and the mayhem in store for the Beardytron_Beta_Tour, here’s a clip of some improvised Tampax_Saville_Elton inspiration at the Button Factory in Dublin at the end of last year:

Beardyman recently returned as a key speaker at the global TED conference in LA where he unveiled the Beardytron and what’s possible with the human voice to a standing ovation from some of the world’s best thinkers, innovators and influencers. He just revealed the Beardytron on BBC Breakfast where this time he was christened as “Ninth Level Sound Wizard” and also with Jarvis Cocker on his BBC6Music show, The Sunday Service, where he premiered a new track he’s working on called “You Only Like What You Know” and then jammed with Jarvis Cocker on an unreleased Pulp track. The live session kicks off at 41mins on BBC iPlayer here:

The award winning and multi talented Beardyman has won fans ranging from Fatboy Slim to Herbie Hancock and Jack Black to Matt Groening. He won the UK Beatbox championships consecutively until nobody else dared to enter. Mike Judge was so impressed with his vocal abilities he personally insisted that Beardyman lent his voice to several characters on the latest series of Beavis and Butthead. He was granted his own show at the prestigious Montreal Comedy Festival, appeared on Conan, stole the show at the BBC Comedy Proms at the Royal Albert Hall, but rocking dance floors is Beardyman’s ultimate passion…

To this end he has improvised his way around the globe smashing dance floors and festival stages using an ever-growing cluster of DJ effect-units and esoteric sound-processing boxes, influencing scores of beatboxers and changing the face of what people thought possible with live improvised music and performance. But this was not good enough for Beardyman. For the past year he has been working with feverish perseverance, with some of the best minds in the world of music technology on one of the most ambitious and technically demanding projects ever undertaken by a performing artist.
